“FORMOSAT-3 Constellation Launch – Notice of Naming/Graphic Design/Project” Award Ceremony is set to take place on January 24th, 2006, at the National Concert Hall. After the ceremony, the “Music of the Sphere” Concert, organized jointly by the Ministry of Education and the National Science Council, meticulously planned by the National Space Organization, were conducted by the Evergreen Symphony Orchestra with the introduction of Taiwan´s top VJ (Video Jockey). During the execution of Holst´s “The Planet Selections”, the on stage wide screen will broadcast the images of the galaxy, painstakingly selected and edited by the National Space Organization, and the photos of the space taken by the NASA, USA and the Hubble´s Space Telescope, along with the tunes played by the symphony orchestra, the planets, the nebulas, the space ships, all make their appearance one by one. The audience will feel like as if they are traveling through the space, and along with the ups and downs of the music and the different visual effects, the audience will feel like they are actually immersed in the space. This concert is the pioneer in which a local classical symphony orchestra is joined with a famous VJ (Video Jockey), and that will the very first combination of this kind to be on the stage of the National Concert Hall. This is a banquet of the marriage between the space technology, digital art and classical music. “Music of the Sphere” Concert includes music numbers from Richard Strauss: Opening of Also Sprach Zarathrustra From Space Odyssey 2001, Debussy: Clair de lune (Moonlight), Holst: The Planet Selections, Mozart: Symphony No. 41 (Jupiter), and other great classical music numbers. The Evergreen Symphony Orchestra will be conducted by the Music Director & Principle Conductor, Miss Ya-Hui Wang. All these music numbers not only describe comprehensively the magnificence and grandeur of the space, they also unfold the unique perspective of the universe of all these great composers of the classical music. This concert is for sure an eye opening and a very distinguished music gathering; you must be part of it. |
